Antique French cast iron 1 kg weight, hexagonal with carrying ring, for old scales or for kitchen decoration

At over 100 years old this iron weight has a lot of rusting. With an attached ring which sits perfectly on top of the weight. On the base is Chappée, the maker's name. The Chappée factory was founded in France by Armand Chappée in the 1860s. This dates from around 1900

This lovely French piece would make a unique paperweight, door stop or decorative item
