Beautiful antique French earthenware flat cheese strainer, known as "faisselle", dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. These charming unglazed strainers are much less common than the usual pot-shaped varieties and are full of rustic, handmade character.

Originally used for straining and draining soft cheeses, these pieces now make wonderful decorative accents for a kitchen or bathroom and can also be repurposed as trinket dishes, soap holders, or berry drainers.
