Antique French Tin / Salmon Pastilles / Art Nouveau / Medicine Box / Decorative Antique Green Tin

Art Nouveau medicine pill box manufactured in France by the French Laboratories Salmon in Melun in the 1910/20's. The Antique French lithographed tin box has a hinged lid and contained pills made of menthol, pine tar and eucalyptus prescribed for disorders of the throat and respiratory tract (asthma, cough, colds and flu)

We can tell this is an early version of this design due to the price of 4 francs, later versions are more expensive!

Please note that the box is sold empty.

Has rust as you would expect. Some of the original seal around the edges is still intact - the "Bande de Garantie" is written on it

There is a catch when closing the hinge so gentle handling needed!

Measures approx 8 x 6 x 2cms
