Antique Mettlach Villeroy and Boch Jug 1840-1862 in the Form of a Tree Trunk with Silver Lustre Detailing

Antique Mettlach Villeroy and Boch Single Handle Small Cream Jug, dating from 1842-1860

We can tell this is an early piece from German makers Villeroy and Boch from the embossed eagles and medallions crest mark applied in cream clay to the base, this mark was only used in 1842-1860

Organic free formed tree trunk like design with silver lustre detailing and a branch like handle

There are two cracks as shown and some age discolouration, but with a tiny piece that is getting on for 200 years old, this is hardly surprising. No chips or other damage, no scuffs to the base

Measures 5cms high, base is 5cms diameter, 8.2cms from spout to handle
