This is a lovely original ceramic antique bread plate from the Victorian era, made by one of the Staffordshire potteries.
The ironstone plate has a deep relief-moulded rim and is underglaze transfer-printed in brown with a dainty floral design, and hand painted in pink and greens on top. Gilt accent detail on the top and outside edges
The plate is in great condition with no damage, has age-related surface crazing and some wear to the gilding and the pattern; it is unmarked as was common.
It measures 27cm across
