Vintage Glass Hydrometer in Original Cardboard Tube / Thermometer / Scientific Intrument

Vintage Hydrometer with original cardboard tube.

No particular makers mark, old style lettering hints to its age

Instrument in lovely condition, no chips or cracks to the glass. I have no idea if it works or not!

13cms long, tube is 18cms long

Tube has battered ends and some scuffs - see photos for details as they form part of the description

In case you're wondering what it does, it is an instrument "used for measuring the relative density of liquids based on the concept of buoyancy. They are typically calibrated and graduated with one or more scales such as specific gravity." (Thank you Wikipedia)
